XPLANE is hiring a full-time Instructional Strategist/Consultant based in our Portland office. You will have a dual role. First, you will be our primary on-staff instructional designer, leading different types of learning projects from instructor-led to web-based formats. Additionally, you will design and facilitate client sessions on a wide range of projects while partnering with a visual designer to get at the heart of our client’s complicated stories.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will collaborate with XPLANE internal and contract team members, client sponsors, and subject matter experts in the following duties:
• Providing strategic direction for learning projects
• Conducting performance and learning needs analysis
• Leading curriculum design, development, and evaluation
• Creating blended learning solutions
• Designing and facilitating discovery sessions for a wide range of projects
• Writing course content and other information as needed
Requirements
• A Bachelor’s degree in related field. Master’s degree preferred.
• Significant experience in the training field, with increasing levels of responsibility. Solid understanding of instructional design and process improvement is required.
• Demonstrated record of designing, writing, and developing blended learning course content.
• Excellent facilitation skills, including workshop design and delivery.
• Skillful at reviewing and analyzing large quantities of complex data, able to synthesize information into logical structures.
• Strong business acumen and ability to comprehend complex issues.
• Excellent client communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. Must display original thinking and creativity and excel at meeting challenges with resourcefulness and innovative ideas.
• Leadership abilities. Able to motivate and coach both internal and contract team members.
• Experience with visual thinking techniques is a definite plus.
